Statement on ACT hospital waiting times

With the release of two new reports on Australia’s health systems, the ACT is once again shown to be at the bottom of the pack.

The latest Australian Institute of Health and Welfare report and quarterly ACT Health report confirm that under ACT Labor and the Greens, Canberra patients are waiting longer than anywhere else in the country for hospital treatment.

For a government that has been in power for almost 20 years, this simply isn’t good enough.

The Minister must explain how she will turn this appalling situation around and demonstrate how this city will become better than average, befitting of the nation’s capital.

The same old excuses and assurances no longer cut it.
